This article should easily be helpful to over 50 percent of those who read it, but you’ll have to bear with me a moment to understand the multiple points that will be discussed.
First, please note carefully the title. Notice that it does not say merely, “one product,” but refers to multiple product lines? I wanted to make that distinction because if I used, “one product,” the first thought that many readers would have is, “well, that doesn’t apply to me because my company has an entire product line…”
However, the information here applies just as much to companies that sell a one-product, product line, as it does to companies that literally sell only one product or service.
One of the things that can give MLM (Network Marketing) a bad name is when people become overzealous about trying to sell their company’s products or services to their friends, family members, associates, or even to bona fide third-party prospects.
One of the most common ways that people make the mistake of becoming overzealous is by convincing themselves (usually with help from their upline or company meetings) that their products or services are THE ONLY products and services that anyone should ever need or buy!
The problem with that line of thinking, of course, is that, while there are exceptions, rarely are one company’s products sufficient to meet the needs of the masses. The same person who tries to convince everyone that his or her products are the ONLY products that someone should use would very likely not accept the same line of reasoning from the department and grocery stores they frequent! Almost any store is likely to have an abundance of choices, brands, and even multiple offerings of the same kinds of products.
And, if you happen to be with one of those companies that offers many products (I just got an email today from one MLM that claims to offer over 1 million!), you should know there can actually be a downside to that too, but we’ll have to save that for another article!
Back to single products or product lines: even if someone doesn’t become overzealous in trying to convince people to buy their few products (because that’s all they’ve got to offer) there is another issue that renders a myth the idea that one product or line from one company can meet most needs. And that myth especially applies to anyone in the health, wellness, and nutrition industry. Stated simply, it is that there is simply no one, single, product, or even product line, that can fully meet the needs of every individual!
Just one reason is that new supplements and nutraceuticals are constantly being formulated based upon research that continues to be gleaned about news ways to enhance our health.
Another reason is that more and more mainstream medical research continues to show that medications, supplements, and even foods, may affect different people differently. It is only in recent years that this has become more widely accepted by mainstream medicine. In short, what works well for one person may not work as well, or may even have undesirable side effects, for another.
And, last but not least, there is the simple fact that different people have different tastes and personal preferences. Just as at the grocery or department store, people like choice! That’s also why this particular issue, while most commonly encountered with people selling health or nutrition related MLM products, can apply to just about any product or service, really.
When it comes to nutritional supplements and nutraceuticals typically the more informed the person selling them the more likely you are to find that they use and/or sell products from more than one company. People like doctors, nurses, naturopathic physicians, nutritional consultants, herbalists, and others who are often better informed commonly offer their patients and clients health related products from more than one MLM company. And, of course, many of the products that health professionals offer do not come from MLM companies at all.
I’m not saying that if you are in the health and wellness industry that you need to run right out and sign up with a bunch of different companies, but just trying to shed a little light on why it is highly unlikely that one product or line products should be expected to be the be-all, end-all offering to your prospective customers and associates.
The bottom line to all of this is that, while there are certainly plenty of people who’ve been very successful in the health and wellness industries, having a broader product offering of the right kind can significantly enhance your opportunities for success and income, simply because you are able to meet the needs of more people!
That’s why ABCIncome.Com did not choose a health and wellness company as the optimal MLM opportunity that we endorse, even though I as its Founder am an avid health and wellness fan. Because I know personally that I could never truthfully tell anyone that all of their needs could be met by one product or one company’s health and nutritional products, the only way that I could focus on that industry would be by offering a variety of products that are the best that I’ve found for their respective purposes. However, since trying to market many different MLMs at one time is typically not a recipe for optimal success, that’s simply not an approach that I want to bet my future on. How about you?
Some day, when I get time, I may indeed even put together a nutritional site of my own, offering multiple products from multiple sources, but its goal will be solely for information and helping people, as opposed to any expectation that I’ll make a lot of money.
Again, just so that no one misunderstands me here, I’m not saying that there is no money to be made in health and wellness. To the contrary, it is one of the top 5 industries in the home business and Internet marketing areas. All that I’m saying is that, to be honest, informed, and practical, and to be in that industry, one really needs to be offering many different products from many different sources.
Instead, I chose for the Guaranteed Internet Business Building System! programs that ABCIncome.Com offers a company that is a marketing company and isn’t tied or locked into any one product line in particular; and offers what I determined to be a near perfect mix of popular and needed products and services that is neither too small, nor too large, and includes the ever popular health and wellness category as well.

Recently a prospect for the above program sent me an email saying that, “he wasn’t interested in telecom.” Unfortunately he didn’t do a very good job of reading the Website, because the MLM company that ABCIncome.Com has chosen to partner with is NOT a telecomm company! Nonetheless, his email raises a great point that drives home what is being said in this article.
Let’s reverse the situation and assume for a moment that the person in this example is actually in telecom himself. Guess what? That’s all that he can sell, because that’s all that his MLM company offers! If he encountered a prospect like himself, someone whose first words are that they don’t like telecom, as the old proverbial saying goes, he would be up a creek without a paddle! On the other hand, if he were with a multiple product company and the prospect said he or she didn’t like telecomm, things would still be fine because our MLM businessperson would still have numerous other offerings that he could present to his prospects instead!
In closing just remember that though many people do well in the health, wellness, and nutritional industries, those fields can also be very limiting from the standpoint of not allowing you to earn optimal income, especially if the MLM company you’re with offers only one product or product line. Too many products can be problematic, too. But, if you can find the ideal mix of products and services to offer to your prospective clients and associates, you will be much better prepared and equipped to meet the needs of just that many more prospective customers and clients!
Nutraceuticals are often referred to as, “functional foods,” which is appropriate, because I’ll end by saying that hopefully this article has truly given you some food for thought!
